Defect Manager

PROJECT INFORMATION:
  • Industry: Finance/Banking.
  • Location: Gdynia.
  • Project language: English (required), Polish.
  • Remuneration: 120 – 140 zł/netto + VAT/h.
  • Project length: 12 months.
  • Assignment type: B2B.

RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Owning and chair daily defect calls with lead Development, Test and Operational Teams, and to provide clear minutes and actions.
  • Working on the definition, ownership and management of the Defect Process and implementation of programme strategy for defects.
  • Ensuring all defects are entered correctly and controlled / managed as effectively as possible through their lifecycle.
  • Leading a team of Defect Leads within the 20+ concurrent testing streams.
  • Maintaining absolute integrity of the defect database and ensuring a full audit trail for any changes made to defect status outside of the published defect process.
  • Representing the programme position on defect status to both local and international stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Furthermore you will be liaising with the Problem Management Team to ensure a clear and efficient interaction within overlapping processes, and to promote this with both programme stakeholders and external stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years of experience from large scale and complex testing projects.
  • 2+ years of managerial experience from large scale teams (>50 people, mix of onshore/offshore people).
  • Experience with implementing Defect Management in large scale programs (>10 Million Euros).
  • Experience with banking domain and with Core Banking Solutions.
  • Understanding of banking architecture (Batch runs, multiple integration technologies, SOA patterns etc.).
  • In depth understanding of QA as a part of a large scale programme.
  • Ability to organize defect management tools and teams.
  • Experience with QA in Agile (Agile Testing).
  • Experience within ITIL Foundation and ISEB / ISTQB foundation.
  • Experience of Mercury Interactive Test Director / Quality Centre.
  • Good working knowledge of the software development life cycle.
  • Furthermore you have the ability to chair, own and steer critical development meetings to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to facilitate changes, are good at setting priorities and making colleagues focus on them.
